Thanks for sharing this post. Not only am I currently witnessing a member of my family go through a separation just after the birth of their first child, but I also went through a separation right after our 3rd child. There were times when I felt like God wasn't listening, or either didn't want us together any longer. I even came to accept that, and then one day, my husband came to his senses and decided, that after four years of turmoil, he wanted to work it out. I know that was nothing but God's work - and it taught me to be patient, it taught that nothing is within my control - and now I'm alright with that.
I also found this great book that you can't find in this blog post, "What does Jesus say about marriage?": http://highlyfavored.affiliateshelpdesk.com/2009/10/26/what-does-jesus-say-about-marriage/

I wish your friends the best. I know God is working it out for their good. :-)

Keep praying. My husband and I were separated for a yr. and a half and have been back together for over a yr. now, praise God! Many faithful prayer warriors brought our family of 7 before the Lord many times. And they let us know they were praying for us - we both needed to hear that repeatedly. They did not give up on us during this very difficult time. Now I look back in amazement! We will celebrate our 25th anniversary June 2010 and my parents 50th!

Thanks for this encouraging word,,,,,just what I needed to be reminded of about prayer and our loving heavenly daddy. You said it perfectly to me tonight. Thanks!!!! We can't project our thoughts and feelings unto God can we,,,,,He is SO different!
